Irlie G. "Doc" Fanning, Jr. age 89 of Carl Junction, MO, passed away at 9:14 p.m. on Thursday, April 16, 2015.
Born July 14, 1925 in Joplin, he was the son of the late Irlie Fanning, Sr. and Hazel Myers Fanning and lived in the Joplin area his lifetime. He never met a stranger, impacted many lives and was loved by all who met him. He loved working on crafts and music and enjoyed Friday and Saturday night Hootenannies, playing his tambourine and maracas.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Betty Purcell and Shella Ash.
Graveside services will be held 3:00 p.m. Tuesday at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery. Gene Hutchcraft, minister, will officiate. Arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
