Betty Anne Cole, age 69, Carterville, passed away at 7:05 p.m. Thursday, June 25, 2015 at Freeman Hospital after an illness.
Betty was born July 14, 1945 in Carthage to the late William Arthur Thomas and Lois Jewell Pittman Thomas and had lived in the Joplin area most of her life.
A homemaker, Betty had worked as a cook at the Jasper County Jail in Carthage for several years.
She married Johnny Cole on November 3, 1973 in McNatt, Missouri. He survives at the home.
Additional survivors include her children, John Mills, South Dakota, Sherri Gonzalez, Webb City, Nathan Cole, Carterville; siblings, Debbie Kinser and Steve Thomas, both of Springfield; grandchildren, Dwayne Mills, Darrin Mills, John Tyler Cole, Jaysen Cole, Deonna Cole, Debekah Cole; and six great grandchildren.
Betty has been taken for cremation. A memorial service is planned for a later date.
