Emma G. Boatwright, age 94, formerly of Joplin, passed away Thursday, July 9, 2015 at a nursing facility in Columbia, Missouri.
Emma was born March 16, 1921 in Lucas, Kansas to the late William McMillen and Rachel Darby McMillen and had lived in Carthage, Joplin, and Webb City most of her adult life. She moved to Columbia in 2010.
She worked as a nurse's aide at St. John's Regional Medical Center and Freeman Hospital. She had also worked at Bob Miller's Restaurant in Joplin; Carthage Country Club and the former C&W Cafe in Carthage.
Emma is survived by her five children, Klaar Crutcher of Branson, Mo, Nick Parolin & Linda Green of Columbia, Mo, Bill Parolin & Peggy Parolin of Parkville, Mo, Jane Nelson of Hollister Mo, and Sue Whitehead-Bray & Johnny Bray of Chula Vista, CA; nine grandchildren, two great grandsons and two great-great grandsons. She is also survived by the many nieces and nephews who are the children of the 13 brothers and sisters who preceded her in death.
Graveside services will be held at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery July 16th at 2:00. Arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to the Missouri Council of the Blind or Barkley House project at the University of Missouri Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital in Columbia Mo.
