Vera Jo Bonous, 58, Carthage, passed away Friday, July 24, 2015 at her sister’s home after a sudden illness. Vera Jo Tatum was born August 17, 1956 in Carthage, the daughter of Ronald M. Tatum and Lillie Thorn Tatum. She was a graduate of Wellington High School, Wellington, KS, Class of 1974. Vera worked at Big Smith Mfg., Carthage, BOP Shop, North Park Mall, Joplin and Whisler’s Hamburgers, Carthage. She was a member of Grace Pointe Assembly of God, Carthage.
Survivors include; two daughters, Tara (Shawn) Hency, Carthage and Holly (Rudy) Norris, Joplin; a sister, Verla Joyce (Jack) Crahan, Carthage; two brothers, Calvin (Doris) Tatum, Carthage and Donald Tatum, Alba, MO; five grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 – 7:00 PM, Tuesday, July 28 at Knell Mortuary, Carthage. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, July 29 at Jasper Cemetery, SE of Carthage. Services are under the direction and personal care of Knell Mortuary, Carthage, MO.
