Cheryl Kay Davis, age 55, of Carthage, Mo., passed away on Friday July 24, 2015, at St. Luke’s Nursing Center, following a seven year battle with Alzheimer’s.
Cheryl was born on June 23, 1960 in Denver, Co., the daughter of Gale Lilly and Mary Schelert Lilly Shank. She married David Davis on December 2, 1978 in Denver, Co. Together they raised nine children. She was a member of Crossroads Baptist Church. Cheryl dedicated her life to taking care of her family. She home schooled most of her children. She also enjoyed her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband David Davis on December 24, 2006; her father Gale Lilly, and three brothers, John Snell, Donald Snell, and Terry Lilly.
Cheryl is survived by her nine children, Kathriann Brown and husband Ted, Carthage, Mo., Brannon Davis and wife Kimberly, Knoxville, Tn., Sam Davis and wife Laura, Carthage, Mo., Jacob Davis, Joplin, Mo., Ada Mae Davis, Emily Davis, Suzannah Davis, Bryant Davis and Jonathan Davis, all of Carthage, Mo.; her mothers Mary Shank, Livermore, Co., and Sandra Lilly, Lakewood Co., two sisters, Deanna Snell, Livermore, Co., and Gayle Lewis, Black Hawk, Co.; and eleven grandchildren, Lilyan Brown, Benjamin Brown, Abbygail Brown, Trystan Davis, Emma Jerrolds, Claire Davis, Nathanael Davis, Zachary Davis, Annalise Davis, Elissa Davis, and David Callahan.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Crossroads Baptist Church on 96 Hwy. in Carthage, Mo. Pastor Sam Davis and Pastor Robert Morgan will officiate. Burial will be in Carterville, Mo. The pallbearers will be her sons. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Mason-Woodard Chapel. Memorial contributions may be given to the Alzheimer’s Association in care of the mortuary.
