Matthew Coles 'Matt' Fox, age 26, Carthage, passed away Friday, July 10, 2015 from injuries he sustained in an auto accident.
Matt was born January 28, 1989 in Joplin and was an area resident all of his life.
He was a 2008 graduate of Joplin High School and was an apprentice plumber for Patterson Plumbing. He had previously worked for Wampler Plumbing. Matt was an Eagle Scout and loved the outdoors, especially camping. He could often be found at the lake fishing and boating with family and friends. Matt was a kind-hearted man who never knew a stranger and was always willing to help anyone who needed it. He was a loving father to his son Kaidyn as well as a loving husband to his wife Clarissa, whom he married on February 7, 2015 in Carthage. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church and had recently been attending Risen Ranch Cowboy Church, Carthage.
Survivors include his wife Clarissa; son, Kaidyn Lee Fox; his father, Charles 'Geno' Fox and his wife, Tracy; his mother, Janice Pekarek and her husband, Thomas; one brother, Joshua Fox and his fiancé, Airica Baker; step brothers, Garrett Pekarek, Preston Pekarek; step sister, Michalla Jackson; and grandparents, Jeannine and William 'Bill' Coles, Leslie and Dixie Springer, Jeanne Pekarek
Other family members include Scott and Denise Lambert, Geof and Janet Fox, Chris and Tammy Fox, Daniel Pekarek, Joe and Linda Pekarek, Tim Pekarek, Andy and Sarah Pekarek, Susie Jones, Garret Lambert, Tiffany Fox, Chase Fox, Katie Fox, Julianna Fox, Emily Pekarek, Abby Pekarek, Michael Pekarek, A.J. Pekarek, Jon Pekarek, Jake Pekarek, Adam Jones, Zac Jones, Kaitlin Jones, Mende and Bradley Staggs, Caleb Staggs, Corin Staggs, Cai Staggs, Elizabeth and Cletis Richards, Lanny and Sheila Staggs and Kathy and Thomas Redeagle.
Services are planned for Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church. Rev. Dave Burgess and Rev. Steve Stafford will officiate. Interment will follow in Fidelity Cemetery, Carthage. Pallbearers will be Joshua Fox, Grant Ousley, Zach Boggs, Caleb Staggs, Garrett Pekarek, Preston Pekarek, Garret Lambert and Chase Fox. The family will receive friends Monday from 6-8:00 p.m. at Parker Mortuary.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Kaidyn Fox Education Fund, in care of Parker Mortuary.
