Jeanne Kay Peterson, age 63, Joplin, passed away Wednesday, July 15, 2015 at her home, surrounded by family.
Jeanne was born September 6, 1951 in Joplin to the late Don Moore and Hazel Daniel Moore and has lived in the area all of her life. She graduated from Carl Junction High School. She worked for many years for Modine Manufacturing, being the second person to be hired. Jeanne was a wonderful wife, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to anyone who knew her. Jeanne loved to be involved in her kid's sports, being their biggest fan. She was an animal lover and had several throughout the years. Jeanne was a member of the Carl Junction Christian Church.
On June 17, 1972, Jeanne married Roy Peterson in Carl Junction, Missouri and he resides of the home.
Additional survivors include a son, Troy Peterson of Joplin; daughter, Gina Peterson of Springfield, Missouri; sisters, Donna Grove and husband, Rick of Webb City, Linda White and husband, Newt of Carl Junction; two grandchildren, Emma and Wesley Peterson; plus many extended family and friends.
Services will be Saturday, July 18, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at the Carl Junction Christian Church. Family will receive friends Friday between 6-7:00 p.m. at the mortuary.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Joplin Humane Society or God's Resort in care of the mortuary.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin, Missouri.
