Twyla Pettengill

Twyla May Pettingill, Neosho, MO entered into rest at the age of 91 on Dec. 6, 2018, following a gradual decline in health.

 Twyla was born July 10, 1927 in Granby, MO to Carl Dean and Violet Mae (Hutchings) Sanders. Twyla had ten siblings: brothers, Vern Dean Sanders, Sr., deceased; Edward (Gene) Sanders of Elbert, CO; Larry Foster Sanders, deceased; Herbert Leon Sanders of Casper, WY and Bobbie Gail Sanders of Casper, WY; sisters, Alta Fay Sanders, deceased; Ina Marie Sanders Ellis of Manhattan, KS; Wilma Elaine Sanders Elliott of Yuma, AZ; Sharon Lavonne Sanders Dooley of Casper, WY and Brenda Sue Sanders Davis of Cheyenne, WY. She lived the majority of her life in the Southwest Missouri area, with the exception of 1951-1979, when she lived in Wyoming. 

Twyla was preceded in death by her husband, John D. Pettingill. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth and Pat Trenary of Neosho, MO; four grandchildren: Dana Gunlock, Kristen Stremel, Stephanie Simmons, and Jason Trenary; three great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. One son, Donald Trenary preceded her in death.

Services will be held at 1:00 pm, Wed., Dec. 12, 2018 at Clark Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, Neosho; Pastor Mitch Jarvis and Terry Ellis will officiate. Interment will follow at Dice Cemetery, Fairview, MO with Jason Trenary, Kelly Gunlock, Darreld Ellis, Terry Ellis and Rick Ellis serving as pallbearers. A time of visitation will be held from 12 noon until service time on Wednesday at Clark Funeral Home. The family requests contributions be made in honor of Twyla to the Joplin Association of the Blind or Avalon Hospice, c/o Clark Funeral Home, PO Box 66, Neosho, MO 64850.
