Dustin Dale Vermillion, age 33, Joplin, passed away at 4:30 p.m. Monday, January 14, 2019 at his home after a sudden illness.
Dustin was born April 30, 1985 to Mark and Shari Vermillion Blackburn and had lived in the Joplin area all of his life.
A lover of books since an early age, Dustin was gifted beyond his years. He aspired to be a chef and always pushed himself intellectually. Dustin enjoyed gaming and music. He loved his family and will be missed by all who knew him.
He married Kayley Edwards on October 10, 2017 in Joplin. She survives at the home.
Additional survivors include two sons, Jack Vermillion, William 'Liam' Vermillion; stepson, Avery Bodwell, Joplin; his parents, Mark and Shari Blackburn, Joplin; siblings, Jacob Blackburn and wife, Kristina, Joplin, Heather Blackburn, Joplin; grandparents, Jim Vermillion, Joplin, Judy and Randy DuRall, Joplin; great grandmother, Oleta Whitehead, Joplin; and several other extended family members and many friends.
Memorial services are planned for Friday at 1:00 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church. Rev. Kenny Cox will officiate. The family will receive friends following the services at the church.
Arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
