Patsy Ellen Byler, age 82, Webb City, passed away on Thursday, January 24, 2019 at her home with family at her side.
Patsy was born May 13, 1936 in Ritchey, Missouri, one of eleven children born to the late Guy Ellis Henry and Lelia Opal Dawson Henry. She attended school at Stotts City Schools, and then graduated from Mount Vernon High School.
She married Buddy Ray Byler soon after high school, and they followed his career with the United States Air Force where she lived in several locations before moving to Webb City in 1971 to be nearer her family. She worked for the Webb City School District and also worked for Connie's Furniture before retiring. She was an active member of Emmanuel Baptist Church where she enjoyed singing in the choir, and teaching Sunday School to the two and three years olds. She also was a volunteer with the Webb City Senior Center.
In addition to her parents, Patsy was preceded in death by her husband, Buddy Ray Byler; and two brothers, Bob Henry and Dick Henry.
Survivors include her children; Brad Byler and wife Kim of Midland, Georgia, Becky Anderson of Reed Springs, Missouri, Pam Younger and husband Don, and Bridget Wynne and husband John all of Webb City; brothers, Joe Henry, Pastor Tom Henry and wife Jeannie, and John Henry and wife Sharon all of St. Louis area; twin sisters, Loyce Foust of Belton, Missouri, and Joyce Conner, Grace Ann Wood and husband Darrell, Wilma Curry all of Webb City, and Norma Henry of Eureka, Missouri; 12 grandchildren, Rachel Bilyeu and husband Keith, Christiana Anderson, Tisha Lilly and husband Jason, Eric Younger and wife Shandee, Seth Younger, Desiree Younger, Amber Wilson and husband Bryan, Kyle Byler and wife Jessica, Lyndsey Benford and husband Eric, Summer Belcher, Cassie Surber and husband Austin, Johnny Wynne; 24 great-grandchildren, Olivia Campbell, Maddie Campbell, Kimber Anderson, Isaiah Lilly, Marissa Lilly, Ryleigh Lilly, Fisher Teal, Memphis Younger, Elika Glahn, Ansley Wilson, Bryneley Wilson, Bennett Wilson, Hayden Byler, Harper Byler, Ally Belcher, Buddy Belcher, Brady Belcher, Brenyn Surber, Gavin Surber, Braxton Surber, Raegan Surber, Taylor Benford, Chance Benford, Ayden Bard.
Patsy was taken for Medical Donation and Research by Genesis Legacy of Life. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, February 2, 2019 at 12:00 noon at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Webb City, Missouri with Pastor Kyle Beverlin and Pastor Tom Henry of Maplewood Baptist Church officiating.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Emmanuel Baptist Church.
