Roselea McClintock

Clovis Roselea (Clymer) McClintock, 92, of Lamar, died January 29, 2019, in Lamar.

Born on September 3, 1926, in Stella, she was the eldest child of Clovis Edward and Rhoda (Collings) Clymer. She spent one year as a child living at the tuberculosis sanitorium in Mt. Vernon. She graduated with the Class of 1945 at Carthage High School. She had a short career as a telephone operator for Southwestern Bell in Carthage.

She married Melvin Dingman in 1946; the marriage ended the following year. On February 14, 1954, she married Emmett Eugene McClintock in Jasper. She spent most of her life assisting Emmett and tending to her domestic duties on their farm near Jasper. When it came time to leave the farm, she moved to Lamar.

She is survived by one sister, Lorada Gillman (Wayne) of Aransas Pass, Texas; four children, Edward Dingman (Judy) of Aurora, James McClintock (Pam) of Jasper, Elaine McCulloch (Rocky) of Lamar and Gordon McClintock of Sedalia; one step-son, Steve McClintock (Donna) of Nixa; nine grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren; one step-great-greatgrandchild; one niece; one nephew; and several cousins.




She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and a son, David McClintock.

She was a member of the Jasper United Methodist Church, Calla Rebekah Lodge and Red Hatters of Lamar. She started the Surviving Spouses group and served as its leader for several years. She was frequently in attendance at the Lamar Senior Center and was the “jewelry lady” at Walmart for several years.

A visitation is set for 6-7 p.m., Thursday, January 31, at Daniel Funeral Home in Lamar. The funeral service will be at 10 a.m., Friday, February 1, at the United Methodist Church in Jasper. Burial will follow at Paradise Cemetery south of Jasper.

Memorials can be made to the United Methodist Church, Lamar Senior Center or Paradise Cemetery in care of Daniel Funeral Home.
