Mick Waldie

Francis “Mick” A. Waldie, age 79, Webb City, Missouri, passed from this earth on Thursday, January 17, 2019, following a sudden decline in health.

Mick was born October 23, 1939 in New Straitsville, Ohio to Charles Waldie and Anna Marie Saulbeamer.

Following graduation from high school Mick worked for the New Straitsville Brickyard. Mick was a veteran of the United States Army. After his service to his country he worked for Lancaster Glass. Mick retired from RCA in 2004 and moved to Webb City. He was a member of the American Legion Post #322. He enjoyed military history and was an avid reader.

Mick married Jan Saulbeamer on August 15, 1994. She survives of the home.

Also surviving are Mick’s children: Sherrie Wilson and husband Greg, Murray City, Ohio; Terrie Johnson and husband Steve, Las Vegas, Nevada; Tonya Yates and husband Rodney, Murray City, Ohio; Travis Waldie and wife Joyce, Logan, Ohio; Robyn Smith, Pineville, Missouri; Heidy Hathcock and husband Dan, Carterville, Missouri; Laury Rowland and husband Billie, Alabama; Shaye Stephens and husband Michael, South Carolina; Elizabeth Johnson and husband Clifford, Webb City, Missouri. Mick is also survived by his brother, Roger Waldie and wife Georgeann, Ohio; 19 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. 






Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, Jan 21, 2019 at Hedge-Lewis-Goodwin Funeral Home in Webb City, Missouri with Pastor Michael Stephens and Mike Morris officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery with full military honors. The family will be present for visitation at 1:00 p.m. Monday prior to the service.

Those gentlemen honoring his life by serving as pallbearers are Jacob King, Billie Rowland, Clifford Johnson, Chris Shilhanek, Andy Clark, Tom Reeder and Steve Johnson. Honorary pallbearers are Sam Hathcock, Bob Wolfe, David Decker, Jeff Riggs, Michael Rodgers, Mike Martin, Josh Miller, Troy Francisco, and members of American Legion Post #322.

Contributions in memory of Mick may be made to the American Legion Post #322 or Webb City Cares in care of Hedge-Lewis-Goodwin Funeral Home.
