(From Ozark Funeral Home)Claud Anderson Carter, 94, of Stella, Missouri, passed away on Monday, April 26, 2021 at the McDonald Living Center in Anderson, Missouri.
He entered this life on April 29, 1926 in Stella, Missouri, one of 10 children born to the late, Dannie and Mollie (Cook) Carter. He was a World War II Veteran, proudly serving our country in the United States Army.
Claud married the love of his life, Mildred Maxine Harris on August 4, 1944 in Bentonville, Arkansas and to this union two daughters were born.
He worked for Eagle Picher in Joplin, Missouri for 35 years. Claud enjoyed working on his farm, fishing and gardening. He was a devoted Cardinal Baseball fan, to the point that if they were not scoring, he would turn off the television.
Claud was preceded in death by his wife of 38 years, Mildred Maxine Carter on March 12, 1982; six brothers, Troy, Floyd, Farrell, Junior, Gene and Bill; sister, Edna and son-in-law, Bill Francisco.
He is survived by his two daughters, Gail Francisco of Stella, Missouri, Pam Brittain and husband, Tim of Stella, Missouri; five grandchildren, Brandon Francisco and wife, Jody of Noel, Missouri, Casey Rickman of Stella, Missouri and Shawn Brittain of Stella, Missouri; six great grandchildren, Savannah, Riley and Wade Rickman, Madison and Ethan Francisco and Kenzie Brittain; two sisters, Juanita Whelan and husband, Hank of Plainfield, Illinois, Geneva Testerman and husband, Don of Noel, Missouri; as well as a host of other family and friends who will dearly miss Claud.
Funeral Services will be held on his Birthday at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 29, 2021 at the Anderson Chapel of the Ozark Funeral Home. Burial will follow with full military honors at the Union Cemetery in Stella, Missouri. Pastor Mark Sumler will officiate.

Those honoring their grandfather’s life by serving as pallbearers are Brandon Francisco, Shawn Brittain, Ethan Francisco, Wade Rickman, Savannah Rickman, Madison Francisco, Riley Rickman and Casey Rickman. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 28, 2021 at the Anderson Chapel of the Ozark Funeral Home.
