Ernie Kloss

Ernest W. “Ernie” Kloss, age 82, of Joplin, passed away on Monday, April 26, 2021, at Westgate, following a long-fulfilled life.

Ernie was born on November 16, 1938 in Wisconsin Dells, WI, the son of the late Walter and Beulah (Phillips) Kloss. 

He worked for many years for Tyson Foods. He enjoyed fishing and dancing with his wife, Claudine. He was known as Mr. Fantastic if anyone asked how he was it was always “Fantastic”. He was a Baptist.








Ernie married Claudine Russell Hollingsworth on June 5, 1994, and she survives. Ernie is also survived by one son, Dennis Kloss and wife Donna, Bentonville, AR; one step-son, Steven Hollingsworth and wife Nancy, Neosho, MO; two step-daughters, Lyn Williams and husband Billy Neosho, MO, and Lisa Christerson and husband Doug, Edmond, OK.; two sisters, Margaret Honigns, Topeka, KS, Lorraine Yennie, Byron, MN; a sister-in-law, Joyce Kloss, Rochester, MN; seven grandchildren, and seventeen great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Bruce Alan Kloss in 2007, and a brother Merlin Kloss.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Mason-Woodard Chapel. Steve Hollingsworth will officiate. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be given to the Alzheimer’s Association in care of the mortuary.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Mason-Woodard Mortuary & Crematory.
