(From Parker Mortuary)Opal Lea Tracy, 87, of Joplin, Missouri, passed away Monday, April 12, 2021 at Saint. Luke’s Nursing Center, Carthage.
Opal was born June 2, 1933 in Ottowa County, Oklahoma to the late Jack Brittle and Lorene (Hensley) Brittle. Opal attended school in Quapaw, Oklahoma.
On October 27, 1951, Opal was united in marriage to Ronald Robert Tracy in Quapaw, Oklahoma. They shared 65 precious years together before his passing on April 6, 2017.
Opal had worked for Midcon Cables and also Oxford Health Care. She had a caregiver’s heart and helping people in any way she could was very important to her. Opal was a very talented seamstress and cook. She had a smile that could light up any room, an infectious laugh and a great sense of humor. She loved the Lord and cherished the time she was able to spend with family and the memories created with them. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
In addition to her parents and husband, Opal was preceded in death by two brothers, Jack Brittle and Jerry Brittle.
She is lovingly survived by her two daughters, Debra Chenoweth and husband, Terri of Carl Junction, Saundra Conlee and husband, Gary of Joplin; son, Bob Tracy and wife, Lynnette of Riverton; grandchildren, Andrea Scott, Matt Tracy, Mark Price, Shane Conlee and Kirston Chenoweth; seven great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; brother, Rex Brittle; sister, Pat Blevins; sister-in-law, Cheryl Ricks; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, April 15, 2021 at Hornet Cemetery with Laura Nicholson officiating.
