Gaylene Jenkins

Gaylene Jenkins, age 59, of Joplin, passed away on Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at her home.

Gaylene, daughter of the late William and Patricia (Oltman) Bradfield, was born on April 15, 1961 in Joplin. She was a lifelong resident of Joplin, a member of the Peoria Tribe of Oklahoma and a member of Hope Baptist Church of Joplin. 

In 2003 Gaylene was united in marriage to Ronnie Jenkins in Saginaw, MO. He preceded her in death on May 28, 2017. Gaylene was known in her family as a “dog mom.” She loved taking care of her furry companions. She enjoyed time spent with her family and grandchildren. She loved trying new food and made a hobby out trying new restaurants and new recipes with her grandchildren at home.

Survivors include her children, Alisha Lagrassa, of Joplin, Brian Lagrassa, and Randy Lagrassa, and his wife, Lawanda, all of Joplin; one step-son, Bradley Jenkins, of Fresno, CA; grandchildren, Kayla Lagrassa, Kyler Lagrassa, Keagan Lagrassa, Kayden Lagrassa, Kyearston Lagrassa, Adeline (Stormie) Lagrassa, and Dash Lagrassa.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 12, 2021 at 10:00 am at Parker Mortuary in Joplin with burial to follow at Ozark Memorial Park in Joplin. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation on Sunday, April 11th from 3:00 pm until 4:00 pm at the mortuary.
