Donna Thrasher

Donna J. Thrasher, age 76 of Joplin, MO., passed away on Sunday, December 1, 2024.

Donna was born on November 18th, 1948 in Joplin. The daughter of Howard and Lila (Atwood) McCollum. She has been a lifetime are resident. Donna worked as a seamstress in a sewing factory in her earlier years, and as an accountant for her brother’s Plumbing business. She was a long-time member at Fairview Baptist Church.

Everyone that knows Donna, knows how caring and loving she was. Before her illness took over, Donna donated her time at many places including water gardens, her church, souls harbor, etc. She always had a heart for others and always put others before herself. She loved car rides away from the nursing facility (given by her daughter) and loved her four-legged baby, Annie, and enjoyed every moment she had with her. She was Donna’s best friend till the end.

She married Wayne Thrasher on March 18, 1977, he survives. Additional survivors include her daughter; Katie Thrasher and her boyfriend Alexander Parker, of Joplin. Her four-legged baby, Annie, who now resides with Katie and Alex. A few beloved cousins, Renea Setina of Springfield, MO., and Nancy Bixler of Seneca, MO., along with several loving nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral services have been scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday, Dec 6, 2024 at the Mason-Woodard Chapel. Burial will follow at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends during a time of visitation on Thursday evening, Dec 5th, 2024 from 6 to 7 p.m. at the mortuary.
