(From Berna Funeral Home)On December 2, 2024, John M. Kennedy met Jesus face to face when his Heavenly Father brought him home.
John is survived by his wife of 50 years, Janet Price Kennedy; his daughter, Angie Price (Jason); his daughter, Amy Keck (Jeremiah); his grandson, Jordan Price; his granddaughters, Alissa Price and Lydia Keck; two brothers, Billy Kennedy Jr. (Kathy) and Tommy Kennedy; two sisters, Margaret Evans (Don) and Jana Hollis (Steve); brother-in-law, Edwin Williams, and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his father, Billy Kennedy Sr.; his mother, Gladys Kennedy; and his sister, Laura Williams.
John was born in Carthage, MO on January 25, 1956. He moved to Rogers, AR at the age of 12 with his family, this is when he first met Janet, his childhood sweetheart. John graduated from Rogers High School in 1974 then later that year he and Janet were married on July 12. In 1980 he gave his life to Jesus Christ at Immanuel Baptist Church in Rogers, AR. He began his career at Glad Manufacturing the same year.
John loved God and loved others. During his time at Glad he advanced his education and enjoyed making lifelong friendships with those he worked with. He was actively involved at Immanuel for 44 years as a Sunday School teacher, deacon, bus driver, camp counselor, and handyman. In his free-time he enjoyed creating in his woodworking shop, fishing on Beaver Lake, and riding his bike on the greenway.
A visitation will be held Friday, December 6, 2024, from 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm at Nelson-Berna Funeral Home in Rogers. Funeral Service will be at 10:00 am on Saturday, December 7, 2024 at Immanuel Baptist Church in Rogers. Burial will follow at Rogers Cemetery under the direction of Nelson-Berna Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the ALS Association or ALS Family of Faith.
