Georgia Holden

(From Loose Funeral Home)

Georgia A. Bingman Holden, 97, a longtime resident of Anderson, completed her journey to the kingdom of God on Saturday January 25, 2025, at Bethany Pointe. She was surrounded by family that both she loved and loved her dearly.

Georgia was born November 11, 1927, in Carthage, MO to Ollie Bingman and Ethel (Keeling) Garretson. She was the youngest of four children including one older brother and two older sisters.

Georgia married her husband, Harry Holden, July 7, 1945, in Norfolk, VA, at the age of 17 and was married to him for 66 years until his passing September 2011. Together they had three children.

Georgia obtained her master's degree in education as well as met her closest friend, Verla Wright, at Ball State University. She was a teacher as well as a Special Education teacher with Anderson Community Schools for 27 years, only retiring after having a stroke in 1996.

Georgia loved the Lord with all her heart and lived each day as a testament of her faith. She most recently attended Cross Roads Global Methodist Church, until she was physically unable to. TBN became her favorite channel. She was a former member of Madison Park Church of God (previously known as North Anderson Church of God), Park Place Church of God, and Chesterfield Church of God.

Second to the Lord, Georgia loved family and friends above all else. Surviving to cherish her memory, she leaves a sister, Wilda Jean Bingman Carver of St. Louis, MO; three children, Harry Dale Holden of Anderson, IN; Cheryl Jane (Kurt) Bengston of California, and Scott A. (Margaret) Holden of Illinois; six grandchildren, Rick (Susie) Holden of Alexandria, IN; Catherine (Holden) Redway of Rio Rancho, NM; Jason (Michelle) Holden of Spanaway, WA; Michael Anthony of California City, CA; Ashley (Isaih Dabney) Holden of Indianapolis, IN; and Dana Bengtson of California; nine Great-Grandchildren Jeremy Holden, Tiara Holden, Shea Holden, Camero Howell, Mackenzie Holden, Kara (Jed) Walling,
Grace Anthony, Isaiah Amari Dabney, and Yazmine Dabney; as well as four Great- Great-Grandchildren, Jayden, Emma, Brantley, and Carter.

Georgia was preceded in death by her father, Ollie Bingman; her mother, Ethel Keeling Garretson; her husband, Harry Holden; her brother, Glenn Bingman; her sister, Freeda Bingman Newell; and her daughter-in-law; Carol Holden.

Her family we would like to give a huge thanks to her good friends, Anita Chandler, June Risk, Linda Hatton, and Pat Anderson. We would also like to give a special thank you to the staff of Bethany Pointe Anderson Health Campus (specifically the assisted living staff) and Paradigm Health for all of the love and support you provided, not only to Georgia but also to her family in this difficult time.
