Janet Fern (Brust) Dalton, 80, passed away peacefully on January 26, 2025, surrounded by her family, in Joplin, Missouri.

Born in Stella, Missouri on October 28, 1944, Janet graduated from Rocky Comfort High School in 1963. Daughter of Carroll and Fern Brust, she loved the family of her birth and the family she created with David Dalton, her husband of nearly sixty years. Married on May 27,1966 in Powell, Missouri, the couple had two children, Mike Dalton and Melody Salzer. Janet was wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend.







Fiercely loyal, Janet was known for her strength, sense of humor, and kindness. Her generous spirit never turned anyone away; she would sooner go without, and sometimes did. She warmed hearts and filled bellies with homemade chicken and dumplings and cinnamon rolls. Family and friends knew they were loved.

Janet is preceded in death by her parents, Carroll and Fern, and her brother, Gene. She is survived by David Dalton (husband), Mike Dalton (son), Melody Salzer (daughter), Joy Packwood and Rochelle Baker (sisters), Lynn Brust (brother), Calab Dalton (grandson), Kohl Campbell (great-grandson) and in-laws Harold Packwood, Mike Baker, and Connie Brust.

The family will receive visitors from 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm on January 29, 2025 at Clark Funeral Home. A service in memory of Janet will be held at Clark Funeral Home on January 30, 2025 at 10:00 am. Clark Funeral Home is located at 312 S. Wood Street, Neosho, Missouri. Burial will occur at Hazelgreen Cemetery in Boulder City, Missouri.
