(From Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home)Carlyn Ruth (Harp) Whisenhunt, 89, Racine, MO passed away January 19, 2025 at Mt. Vernon Veterans Home after a long illness.
Carlyn Ruth Harp was born April 15, 1935 in Oklahoma City, OK the daughter of James E. and Mamie R. (Kirby) Harp. She had graduated Quapaw High School and soon after joined the US Air Force where she served at Travis Air Force Base, Fairfield, CA. She stayed in California until she moved back the area in 1977. Carlyn enjoyed reading, crafts, knitting, crocheting and macrame.
Carlyn Ruth Harp married Harold L. Whisenhunt August 10, 1958 in Reno, NV and he preceded her in death in October of 1991. Also preceding her in death were her parents, James and Mamie; siblings Emma Lou DeMoss, Frances Eagan, L.B. Harp, Jerry Harp, David Bibb and Clarence Bibb and step-son Barry Whisenhunt.
Survivors include children, Kimberly Shipley and husband Chris, David Whisenhunt and wife Theresa Dawson and one stepson Ron Whisenhunt; grandchildren, Colton Whisenhunt, Sarah Shipley, Taylor Shipley, Daniel Shipley; siblings, Leona Campbell and husband Gary, James Bibb wife Debbie, Ruth Lyons and husband Edward, Brenda Jones and husband Ronnie and Bobby Bibb and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.
The family will receive friends from 6pm to 7pm, Thursday, January 23, 2025, at the Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home, Seneca, MO. following the visitation the body will be taken for cremation.
