Tim Wood

(From Simpson Funeral Home)

Timothy Ray Wood, known to all as Tim, was a loving, generous, and humble individual who would give the shirt off of his back for anyone. He was born on December 21, 1957 to James R. and Mary (Hance) Wood Sr. in Santa Monica, CA.

He spent the majority of his years in Carl Junction. A carpenter by trade, he devoted his life to the construction business, a family trade he inherited from his father, and shared with his brother, Jim.

Tim was the baby of the family and was known for his great sense of humor and love for children. He was also known for being strong-willed; a trait that often led him to do exactly what you told him not to do. This playful defiance was part of his charm and a testament to his belief in living life to its fullest. He was both thoughtful and frugal, always putting others before himself. His generous spirit and loving nature will be deeply missed by everyone who knew him.

Tim is survived by his brother, Jim (Zelda "Zee") Wood of Webb City; his sisters Cathy Maxwell of Carl Junction and Pamela (Kenneth) Parker of Webb City; children Tim (Timi) Wood of Enid, OK, Jamie (Alyssa) Wood of Webb City, Kyle Wood of Carthage, Mark Wood of Excelsior Springs, Danielle (Wes) Knapp of Trenton, and Travis (Kaylee) Wood, also of Trenton; along with 12 grandkids and numerous other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, January 25, at 2:00pm at Carl Junction Cemetery with Chaplain Kyle Beverlin officiating.

Services are under the personal care and direction of Simpson Funeral Home. The family encourages relatives and friends to visit www.simpsonfh.com to share photos and memories of Tim.
