Marian Kay Gibby, 72, of Joplin, Missouri, passed away suddenly and was found in her home on Monday, March 24, 2025.
Marian was born on April 14, 1952, in Mexico, Missouri, to Eldon and Peggy Rosenthal. She lived in Joplin for approximately 45 years and retired from Franklin Technology Center in 2024.
She is survived by her children, JJ Banks and Shane Van Dalsem, and her grandchildren, Brandon Van Dalsem, Daniel Van Dalsem, and Ash Van Dalsem. Marian enjoyed growing plants and attended the Church of Christ in Carthage, Missouri.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, Larry and Roger Rosenthal.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, May 31, 2025, from 11 AM to 1 PM at Pavilion #3, Cunningham Park, Joplin.
Because Marian truly loved Franklin Technology Center's Greenhouse and would often spend time there, a Memorial Fund has been created at that location in her honor.
