(From Parker Mortuary)Pattie 'Patty' J. Broadwater of Joplin, MO passed away at her home on April 18th, 2025. Patty was born on October 8, 1937 in Carthage, MO to Benjamin Franklin Broadwater and wife Rosie Mae (Mabie) Broadwater.
Patty was the 10th of 15 children born to this union. As a young child, the family moved to Joplin, MO where she attended school and graduated from Joplin High in 1955. She lived most of her life in Joplin with the exception of a few years in Kansas City and also Purcell, MO.
After returning from Kansas City, Patty worked at First National Bank & Trust Company, now U.S. Bank. She retired after 26 years. She later worked part-time at several restaurants including Luby's, Shoney's and Pizza by Stout.
Patty had a wide variety of interests. She was an avid sports fan and could tell you just about everything involving her favorite team, the Chicago Cubs, as well as multiple football teams. Her favorite quarterback was Tom Brady. She had a remarkable memory and could relate all the details of past vacations taken alone and many taken with her sister, Virginia. A favorite night-time activity was watching Turner Classic Movies. She had a love of history and especially enjoyed reading biographies of notable figures.

Patty is the last of her brothers and sisters to pass. She is survived by multiple nieces and nephews as well as their children. Patty will be greatly missed.
No services are planned at the request of Patty. Cremated remains will be interred at Fairview Cemetery in Joplin, MO.
