Maxine Stephenson

Maxine Irene Stephenson, daughter of the late Irvin Edgar and Estie Florence (George) Robertson was born on June 9, 1937 in Jay, Oklahoma. She departed this life on Sunday, April 13, 2025 at the Integris Grove Hospital in Grove, Oklahoma at the age of 87 years.

She was born and grew up in rural Jay, Oklahoma. Graduated from Grove High School in 1956. She married Chester “Sonny” Stephenson on February 2, 1962 in Bentonville, Arkansas and to this union two sons were born. Maxine worked alongside her husband Sonny transporting mobile homes. She helped on the farm raising cattle and loved animals. She was a faithful member of the Full Gospel Church in Southwest City, Missouri.








She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Chester “Sonny” Stephenson and son, Keith Stephenson.

Maxine is survived by her one son, Wesley Stephenson and wife, Janice, of Grove, Oklahoma; seven grandchildren, Felicia, Kody, Brittany, Samantha, Nikki, Rachael, and Sean; great grandchildren, Hoyt, Brooks, Landon, Jaden, Jocelyn, Kylin, and Everson; her former daughter in-law, Lori Stephenson; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other family and friends who will dearly miss Maxine.

Funeral services for Mrs. Maxine Stephenson will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 22, 2025 at the Full Gospel Church in Southwest City, Missouri with Pastor JR Morgan officiating. Burial will follow in the Polson Cemetery near Southwest City, Missouri. Those honoring Maxine’s life by serving as pallbearers are Darrel Robertson, Hoguen Apperson, Harley Apperson, Jake Sumter, Kody Stephenson and Charlie Apperson. Toby Sumter and Gary Bradley will serve as honorary pallbearers. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 22, 2025 from 9:00 am until service time at the Full Gospel Church in Southwest City, Missouri.
