(From Clark Funeral Home)Bonnie Mae (Johnson) Mahan, 93, of Neosho, MO, passed away Monday, August 25, 2025, at Quaker Hill Nursing Home in Baxter Springs, KS.
She was born January 23, 1932, in the Bethpage Community near Stella, MO, to Frank and Stella Mae (Shields) Johnson. Bonnie graduated from Stella High School in 1949 and Central Business School in Kansas City in 1950. She worked at Hallmark Cards in Kansas City for five years before marrying Wayne Mahan on June 10, 1952. They shared 61 years of marriage until Wayne's passing on August 24, 2013.
In 1955, Bonnie and Wayne settled on their farm near Miami, OK, where they raised registered Hereford cattle and made their home for more than five decades. In 2011, Bonnie moved to Neosho, MO. She enjoyed traveling, gardening, and spending time outdoors.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne; her parents; brothers, J.D. Johnson and Calvin Johnson; and half-siblings, Carl Johnson, Harold Summers, Faye McElhaney, Lorene Crawford, Lucille Travis, and Pauline McCormick.
She is survived by her brother-in-law, Joe Reinhard, and many beloved nieces and nephews: Donna Lewis, Joan (Murphy) Biglow, Warren Dean (Violet) Mahan, Connie Smith, Linda (Rick) Bormaster, Debbie (Jim) Johnson, Greg (Kathleen) Reinhard, Ann Reinhard, Theresa (David) Rohrlick, Judy Mahan, Cindy Mahan, and Rick (Sharon) Pogue.
Funeral services will be held at 5:00 p.m. Thursday, August 28, at Clark Funeral Home Chapel of Memories in Neosho, with visitation following the service until 6:30pm. A private burial will take place at Union Cemetery in Stella, MO.
