(From Mason-Woodard Mortuary)Floyd Douglas Bower, age 82, of Joplin, MO passed away peacefully on August 20, 2025.
He was born on December 9, 1942 in Imperial, NE to his parents Floyd and Vada (Hall) Bower.
Doug moved to the Joplin area and opened Mid America Collection Agency in 1974 prior to his retirement. He loved coaching, traveling, going to Stockton Lake, hunting and fishing, watching Husker football, cigars, and spending time with friends. He adored his grandbabies and of course his sons.
Doug is preceded by his wife, Marylou Bower; his parents Floyd and Vada Bower; one grandson, Tyler Bower.
He is survived by four sons, Thomas Bower, Douglas Bower, Michael Bower and wife Sherri, and Matthew Bower; one sister, Janice Radcliff; six grandchildren, Eric Bower and wife Brittany, Luke Bower, Jarrett Bower, Ethan Ritschel, Brayden Bower, and Ella Bower; two great grandchildren, Tyler Bower and Lyli Bower.
Services will be held at 1:00pm at St. Mary’s Catholic Church on Wednesday, August 27, 2025.
