(From Ozark Funeral Home)Mr. James “Red” Kenneth Tomlinson, 66, of Anderson, Missouri, departed this life on Saturday morning, August 16th, 2025, in Neosho, Missouri following a lengthy illness, with his loving family at his bedside.
Red entered this life on January 17, 1959, in Neosho, Missouri, one of two children of the late Gerald and Ella Mae (Parsons) Tomlinson. He was a lifelong resident of the Anderson, Missouri area. He worked in construction for many years for Branco in Neosho, Missouri, before establishing his own construction business. He retired from construction after a decline in health. Red enjoyed farming and throwing a line in the water, whether he was catching a fish or not. He enjoyed listening to his rooster “Paco” every morning.
He is preceded in death by his parents Gerald and Ella Mae Tomlinson.
James is survived by his four sons, Adam Tomlinson, and wife Ashley, of Neosho, Missouri, Kenny Tomlinson, and wife Jeanna, of Neosho, Missouri, Dylan Tomlinson of Goodman, Missouri, and Dustin Tomlinson ,and wife Manda, of Anderson, Missouri; a daughter, Lili, of Anderson, Missouri; Eight grandchildren with one on the way, Xavier, Everson, Kylie, Zaiden, Alyssa, Katie, Hope, Esteban, and Tanner coming in December; a great granddaughter, Emori; a brother, Ted Tomlinson ,and wife, Nancy of Anderson, Missouri; a niece, Michelle Allen and husband, Josh Allen, of Anderson, Missouri; extended family, Don Strickland and Mike Bickford; and several family and friends that will miss Red’s contagious laugh and smile.
Graveside funeral services for James are Wednesday, August 27, at 9:00 a.m., at Peace Valley Cemetery in Anderson, Missouri with Bob Holloway officiating. Those honoring his life by serving as pallbearers are Ted Tomlinson, Kenny Tomlinson, Dylan Tomlinson, Dustin Tomlinson, Adam Tomlinson, and Ty Freeman. The family will have visitation on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at the Anderson chapel of Ozark Funeral Home.
