Nancy Reynolds

Nancy Jo Reynolds, age 67, Webb City, passed away at 3:50 p.m. Friday, January 25, 2019 at Freeman West Hospital after an illness.

Nancy was born May 8, 1951 in Joplin to the late Chester Claude Reynolds, Sr. and Maxine Ruth Windecker Reynolds and had lived in the Joplin area all of her life.

Nancy attended Carl Junction schools and graduated from Missouri Southern State College with a degree in sociology.

She worked as a certified alcohol and drug counselor for Ozark Center, New Direction, Lafayette House and the Freeman Care Unit. Nancy loved fishing, crafts, woodworking and her family. She was a member of AA since 1980. Nancy will be missed by all who knew her.

Survivors include her daughters, Jody Nelson and Milissa Burns; two adopted daughters, Tracy Widick and Crystal Pippin; a sister, Cindy Thomas; two brothers, Chester Reynolds, Jr. and Billy Reynolds; ten grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by a brother, Jack Reynolds and a great grandchild.

Nancy has been taken for medical research. No formal services are planned at this time.

Arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.

Jerry Caskey

Jerry Dean Caskey, age 60, Joplin, passed away at 12:23 p.m. Wednesday, January 23, 2019 at a local nursing center after an illness.

Jerry was born April 6, 1958 in St. Louis, Missouri to the late Charles G. Caskey and Lorene W. Fowler Caskey and had lived in Joplin most of his life.

Jerry attended Joplin schools and worked for St. John's Nursery, Joe Harding, Inc. and Sunbeam Products. He was a member of First Christian Church and a former member of the Boy Scouts Troop #3.

Jerry enjoyed reading about history, listening to music and creating art. He was fortunate to have some of his work displayed at the Spiva Center for the Arts in Joplin.

Survivors include a son, Nickolas A. Caskey, Daly City, California; a daughter, Jennifer Bricker-Roland; his brother, Richard E. Caskey and girlfriend, Julia Young, Joplin; three cousins, Keith Schatzman, Kevin Schatzman, Katie Bartley; former wife, Laurie Tandy; and several other extended family members.

Memorial services are planned for Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. at Parker Mortuary Chapel. Rev. Jeff Martin will officiate. The family will receive friends following the services at the mortuary.

Rich Jones

Richard Frederick "Rich" Jones, age 81, Carl Junction, formerly of Sarcoxie, passed away on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at a local nursing center.

Rich was born January 12, 1938 in Webb City, Missouri, one of thirteen children born to the late Mose Franklin Jones and Sylvia Emma Pequignot Jones.

He graduated from Carl Junction High School in 1956, married Beverly Cole, and went to work for Frisco Railroad. He then served in the United States Army where they were stationed in Anchorage, Alaska. He moved to Sarcoxie where he continued working with the Railroad before retiring after 25 years as a Station Agent. He then began farming, and operated a Turkey Farm for many years before retiring and moving to Carl Junction.

In addition to his parents, Rich was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Jones, and a sister, Margaret Jones.

Survivors include his children, Joyce Throneberry and husband Ken of Webb City; son, Roger Jones and wife Lori of Neosho; Beverly Jones of Webb City; grandchildren, Zachary Jones and wife Kasie of Joplin, Nicole Arft and husband Clay of Oronogo, Ashley Shilling and husband Daniel of Joplin, Bradley Throneberry and wife Leah of Joplin, Megan Goswick and husband Cody of Avilla; great-grandchildren, Austin Arft, Abby Arft, Logan Throneberry, and Cora Shilling; brothers, Larry Jones of Carl Junction, Al Jones and wife Linda, and David Jones all of Joplin; sisters, Ruth Crockett of Joplin, Helen Landes and husband Carl of Carl Junction, Alice Ellis and husband Herman of Joplin, Delores Jackson and husband Ralph of Springdale, Arkansas, Janice Marquardt of Joplin, Norma Koon of Joplin, Linda Jones of Hampton, Virginia, and Marilyn Whitaker of Lawton, Oklahoma; sister-in-law, Barbara Smith of Asbury, Missouri; several nieces, nephew, and great-nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be Monday, January 28, 2019 at 4:00 p.m. in Parker Mortuary Chapel with Pastor Randy DePriest officiating.

Interment of his ashes will be at a later date in Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery.

Nolan McNeill

Nolan Gene McNeill, age 84, of Cassville, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri.

He was born on March 17, 1934 in Bethlehem, Missouri, the son of John B. and Rilda Virginia (King) McNeill. On May 10, 1953 in Rocky Comfort, Missouri, he was united in marriage to Barbara Lee Milligan, who survives. Also surviving are his children, Nolan McNeill II and his wife Becky of Wheaton, Missouri, Sharen McNeill and her husband Jim Beagle of Purdy, Missouri, Tracy McNeill of Smithfield, North Carolina, Mark McNeill of Elizabethton, Tennessee, Marci LePage and her husband John of Anderson, Missouri, and Brooks McNeill of Exeter, Missouri; two nephews, Gary McNeill and Ed Lee; twelve grandchildren, Chris, Adria, Brandon, Kristin, Devin, Ryan, Miles, Melodi, Trista, Jake, Natalie, and Luke plus twenty-five great grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were his parents, two sisters, Ida Sue Henderson and Virginia Lee McAlister, one brother, Thomas King McNeill, a niece, Sue Ann Doennig, a nephew, John McNeill Lee, and a Daughter-in-Law, Michelle McNeill.

Nolan received his education in Purdy, Missouri where he graduated from high school. Following his education, he served his country in the United States Army Reserve. He worked for the Boeing Company through the 1950s in Wichita, Kansas and Spokane, Washington. Nolan and his family returned to Missouri in 1960, settling in Cassville. For thirteen years, he owned and operated a furniture store on the Cassville Square, before establishing himself in full time farming and the political arena. Nolan served two terms, totaling eight years as the Presiding Judge of Barry County, Missouri. He was elected to serve his area and the State of Missouri in the House of Representatives for ten years.

For over thirty years, he served as the President of the Board of Directors for OATS Transit. Nolan was a lifelong Democrat. He was a farmer and livestock producer who loved working with his cattle. He loved to quail hunt, worked to help others, and enjoyed spending time with his family. He was a member of the Cassville United Methodist Church since 1960.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Cassville United Methodist Church in memory of Nolan.

Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 26, 2019 at the Cassville United Methodist Church under direction of Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville. Pastor Andy Lambel will conduct the services. Burial will be at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Butterfield, Missouri.

Benny Perry

Benny Joe Perry, 64, of Webb City, MO passed away at his home on Tuesday, January 22, 2019.

He was born on March 28, 1954 to Gene and Rosalie (Cochran) Perry.Benny is survived by his mother, Rosalie; two brothers, Dan (Sherri) Perry and Tom (Jeanne) Perry; five children, Philip (Jessica) Alberty of Carthage, MO; Paul (Christy) Alberty of Olathe, KS; Kameron Perry (William Dowling) of Jacksonville, FL; Katy (Andy) Myers of Joplin, MO; Kristi (Kenny) Masters of Russellville, AR.; twelve grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. Additionally, he is survived by his former spouses, Alice Perry of Joplin, MO and Debbie Collins of Florida.

Benny is preceded in death by his father, Gene Perry; and his son, Brandon Cory Perry.

Benny grew up in Carterville, MO and graduated as a Webb City Cardinal in 1972; his Cardinal Pride ran deep. He touched the lives of many in the community, from his early days as the R.A. leader, to officiating at local sporting events, providing karaoke services, and performing with his band at a variety of local establishments. He had a passion for family, sports, the Kansas City Chiefs, cross-word puzzles and impersonating Jimmy Stewart. His ‘buoyancy’ was present throughout his life.

Benny spent 18 years of his life working at Roadway. He wanted to live high on life, so with the partnership of his late best friend, Gerald Carnes, together they formed a trophy shop. With the partnership of his brother, Hank Rotten, that trophy shop became the Rotten Brothers Trophy Company. Benny’s entrepreneur adventure didn’t stop there. His love for music and laughter led him to start Ben Rotten Karaoke. He would likely tell you that the ‘schematics’ of his business plans kept him ‘busier than a three-legged mule’. This ‘Desperado’ spent his final days preparing for his retirement to Florida, where he envisioned spending his time walking with his beloved dog, Buffy, on the beach.

A Celebration of Benny’s life will be held on February 2, 2019 at the Webb City Elks Lodge from 2 p.m. – 6 p.m.

Tom Johns

Thomas E. Johns, age 80 of Carl Junction, Mo., passed away on Thursday, January 24, 2019 at Mercy Hospital in Joplin, Mo. following an illness.

Tom was born on May 18, 1938 in Parma, Mi., the son of James L. Johns and Phyllis (Perry) Ruperd. He has been a long-time area resident, Tom owned and operated his own tree service for many years. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Carthage, Mo. Tom enjoyed fishing, watching wrestling, tending his yard and garden and tinkering on old tractors.

He married Vida Sanders on December 21, 1959, she survives. Additional survivors include four daughters; Sharon Neale and husband Carl of Carl Junction, Susan Johns of Webb City, Mo., Shirley Wehmeyer and husband Dave of Carl Junction, Sandra Richardson and husband Mike of Stilwell, Ks., seven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. Tom was preceded in death by his parents, a step-father, George Ruperd, a brother, W.J. Johns and a sister Carol Johns.

Funeral services have been scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 29, 2019 at the Mason-Woodard Chapel. Burial will follow at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends during a time of visitation from 7 to 8 p.m. Monday evening at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Children's Mercy Hospital or to the American Heart Association in care of the mortuary.

Tom Doyle

Thomas W. Doyle, age 49 of Joplin, Mo., passed away early Saturday, January 26, 2019, at Freeman Hospital in Joplin.

Tom was born on September 19, 1969 in Kansas City, Mo., the son of Thomas H. and Barbara (Hollingshad) Doyle. He has been a long-time area resident, Tom worked for Parsons Police Department for many years. He attended Saint Peter’s Catholic Church in Joplin.

He married Tisha Burke on June 27, 1992, she survives. Additional survivors include two sons; Thomas H. Doyle of Springfield, Mo., Jake M. Doyle of Miami, Ok., his mother; Barbara Doyle of Joplin, one brother; Jim Doyle of Joplin, three sisters; Kay Carlton of Carthage, Mo., Theresa Witt of Springfield, Sara Baker of Overland Park, Ks., and many loving nieces and nephews. Tom was preceded in death by his father, Thomas H. Doyle.

A mass of Christian burial has been scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at Saint Peter’s Catholic Church in Joplin. Burial will follow at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery. A rosary prayer service will begin at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home with a visitation to follow.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Doyle Children in care of the mortuary.
