Terry Culshaw

Terrance "Jr." Culshaw, 61, of Noel Missouri, passed away on December 26, 2022.

Terry was predeceased by his wife of 25 years Theresa J. Culshaw, his parents Terrance Lee Culshaw, Sr. and Dorothy June (Thomas) Culshaw; his brother, William (Bill) Culshaw; two sisters, Diane Cruz and Tracy Morrison.










He is survived by sisters, Tammy Jubala and Husband Tim Jubala of Anderson, Missouri, Jodi Pyle and husband Randy Pyle of Calvin, Kentucky, Kelli House of Springfield, Missouri, Shelli Morgan and husband Kenny Morgan of Panama, Oklahoma; brother-in-Law, Tim Morrison of Rogers, Arkansas and David Cruz of Chicago, Illinois. His son, Wahlon O’neal and wife Linda of Pea Ridge, Arkansas; lots of great nieces & nephews and two great great nephews.

Terry Loved and adored his wife, Theresa of 25 Years. He loved to fish and hunt and spend time with family and friends. Loved to Cook & Grill…Loved Westerns, Simpsons & Rock n Roll.

Timmie Holmes

Timmie David Holmes, age 74, of Mt. Vernon, Missouri, passed away at 7:48 p.m. on Sunday, December 25, 2022, at Cox South Hospital in Springfield, Missouri. He was born November 17, 1948, in Springfield, the son of Lynville and Dorothy (Friar) Holmes.

Timmie accepted Jesus as his Savior as a young boy while at the Baptist Hill Church Camp. He quietly loved the Lord, his family, horses, his farm and his alma mater, Mizzou.

Timmie was a 1966 graduate of Miller High School, in Miller, Missouri. He received his bachelor’s degree in Agriculture from the University of Missouri in Columbia, Missouri and his master’s degree from Webster University in St. Louis, Missouri. He was in the Alpha Gamma Sigma Fraternity. Timmie was a retired Colonel of the United States Air Force and a C-130 pilot. After retirement, Timmie worked at the Joplin Stockyards for many years.

On December 20, 1969, he married Mary Ann Thomas in Red Oak, Missouri.

Timmie is survived by his wife of 53 years, Mary Ann; one daughter, Tara McLaughlin and her husband, Jeff, of Monett, Missouri; one son, Joshua Holmes and his wife, Jamie, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; seven grandchildren, Megan (Jakob) Warren, Jennifer (Jacob) Freeman, Amber McLaughlin, Kristen (Tristin) Smith, Hailey McLaughlin, DJ Holmes and Jeremiah McLaughlin; two sisters, Cathy Williams of Joplin, Missouri and Peggy (Steve) Jones of South Greenfield, Missouri and many close family members and dear neighbors, Matt, Ginia, Kadence, Rylan, Bella, and Masen Oehlschlager.

Timmie was preceded in death by his parents, Lynville and Dorothy and two brothers, Bobbie, and Ronnie Holmes.

A visitation will be held from 2:00-3:00 p.m. on Friday, December 30, 2022, at the Fossett-Mosher Funeral Home, in Mt, Vernon, with a funeral service to follow at 3:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. A private family burial will be held at a later date at the Shiloh Cemetery.

John Ryan

Philip "John" Ryan, 86, of Toulon, Illinois passed away at 10:36 a.m. Friday, December 23, 2022 at Courtyard Estates of Kewanee. 

John was born on November 15, 1936 in Princeville, the son of Philip Michael and Elizabeth (White) Ryan. He married Wanda Wilhelm on April 30, 1960 in Peoria; she survives.

Also surviving are daughter, Elizabeth (Mike) Jones of Kewanee; son, Carl (Jeanne) Ryan of Wyoming, and a stepson, Greg (Peggy) Heintz of Stark City, MO; six grandchildren, Natasha (Matt) Wattleworth of Bloomington, Danielle Jones of Kewanee, Addison (Sydney) Ryan of Wyoming, Justine Ryan (James Code) of Chicago, Clayton (Caitlyn) Ryan of Wyoming, and Ryan Heintz of Kewanee; and five great-grandchildren.

John graduated from Toulon High School in 1954. He then served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict from 1954 – 1956, and in the Army Reserves from 1956 – 1958. He then began his life-long career in farming. He worked for the ASC, sealing corn and checking the corn on government bin sites.

He served on many local boards, including the soil and water board as a social and board member, the Stark County Farm Bureau, Stark County Board, the West Jersey Grade School board, the zoning and appeals board, as a chairman on the board of the Laura State Bank until it was sold, and was on the board of Trustees at the Laura United Methodist Church. John was also an OSA Badge Honoree and participated in the Greater Peoria Area Honor Flight.

His funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, December 30, 2022 at Haskell Funeral & Cremation Services in Wyoming. Rev. Zach Waldis will officiate. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Thursday, December 29, 2022 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Toulon Cemetery in Toulon.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Laura United Methodist Church, the Stark County Illinois Historical Society or the Greater Peoria Area Honor Flight.

Danny Johnson

Danny Ray Johnson, passed from this life, December 25, 2022, at the age of 66. He was born June 21, 1956, to Donald W Johnson and Shirley Ann (Locke) Johnson. Danny graduated from Nevada High School in 1974. 

He married Linda Chapman, and she preceded him in death. He worked for 3M company for over 20 years, retiring in 2022. He lived most of his life in Nevada, MO, and loved playing music, hunting, and fishing.

Danny is survived by his mother, Shirley Ann Johnson; three sisters, Susan Marie Ring, Branson, MO, Janice (Michael) Manley, Joplin, MO, and Cathy Johnson, El Dorado Spring, MO, and his companion, Lea Ann Rysted, of the home. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews

In addition to his wife, Linda Johnson, he was preceded in death by his father, Donald Johnson.

The funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 29, 2022, at Ferry Funeral Home, with burial to follow at Robinson Cemetery, Collins, MO

Memorials are suggested to the family with the funeral home serving as custodian.

Joan Farmer

Joan Delores Michel Farmer, 85, of Joplin, MO., passed away on December 27, 2022, after a faithful life.

Joan was born on December 18, 1937, Atwood, KS., the daughter of Adolf and Margaret (Frecks) Michel. Joan was baptized December 25th, 1937, at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Colby, KS. She was a graduate of St. John’s College in Winfield, KS. and Concordia College Seward, NE. 

She was a Lutheran School teacher and a public-school teacher and librarian, teaching every grade K-8 over a career spanning over 50 years. Joan was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Joplin, MO., where she was active in LWML.

Joan is being remembered by her family and friends as a woman of tremendous faith who loved teaching, telling stories, working in the church, sharing her Christian faith, and serving others in any capacity she could.

She married Richard K. Farmer, on October 23, 1971, he preceded her in death on July 31, 1983. Joan was also preceded in death by her parents, Adolf and Margaret Michel, her two sisters Vera Broderick and Janice Meyer.

Joan is survived by her sons, Russell F. Farmer and Andrew C. Farmer; step-children, Richard K. Farmer, Jr., Thomas L. Farmer, Steven P. Farmer, Jean M. Pogue; 14 grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, cousins, grandnieces and nephews.

Monetary donations may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church in care of the mortuary.

Funeral services have been scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 31, 2022, at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Freistatt, MO. Burial will follow at the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery. The family will receive friends during a time of visitation from 6 to 7 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home and again prior to the service at the church beginning at 10:00 a.m. Saturday.

Gary Frazier

Gary Edward Frazier
July 13, 1954 - December 26, 2022

Born in Joplin, Missouri. Graduated from Parkwood High School 1972 and MSSU with a B.S. in Business. Gary was a Veteran, serving in the United States Air Force. 

He worked many years at Modine Manufacturing in Joplin. He later worked traveling the United States training medical staff in hospitals for advancing computer technology until retirement. Gary enjoyed many hours fishing and golfing with his buddies.

He is survived by his father Robert (Rod) Frazier (Rita), step-brother Daniel Frazier (Tosha), step-sisters Tammy Moore (Eddie) and Kelly Whetsten (Mark),step-father Charles Kenney, sister Cherie Baker (Bob), step-sister Kriss Harris, nerdling nephew Brady Baker (Carol), nerdling niece Erin Taylor (Garrett),nephew Zachary Harris (Alexa), nephew Seth Harris (Natalie),and many beloved great nieces and nephews (little nerdlings). He was preceded in death by his mother, Deanna Kenney.

A graveside service will be held at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery on Friday, December 30th at 10:00. Visitation will be held at 2727 N. Park Avenue, the home of his sister, immediately following the graveside services.

Brenda Morris

Brenda Sue Morris was born April 5th, 1965, in Joplin Missouri to Don and Patricia (Allgood) Griffin. She died Saturday, December 24

Brenda was a long-time member of Fairview Christian Church in Carthage, Missouri. She worked at the Lodge of the Ozarks for many years in the Hospitality service. She received her bachelor’s degree and was close to finishing her masters. She was a hard worker and loved her family.

Brenda was preceded in death by her parents, Don and Patricia Griffin.

Brenda is survived by her sister Donna (James) White of Joplin, Missouri. A niece; Lola and nephew; Noah.

Services for Brenda will be held at the Mason-Woodard Chapel Thursday December 29th. Funeral Service will take place from 2:00 – 3:00 pm, the Visitation is prior to the service at 1:00pm.
