Bud Kimbro

Charles “Bud” Kimbro, of Carthage, MO, died on Thursday, May 4, 2017 at Mercy Hospital. He was 83. He was born on February 3, 1934 in Carthage, MO son of the late Buster and Woneva Kimbro. He attended school in Carthage and graduated with the class of 1952. After graduating, he joined the United States Navy, and served from 1952-1956. In 1957, he married Joyce Henderson of Glasgow, Scotland. Together they had two children, Karen and Scott. Charlie owned an American Family Insurance Agency in Monett, MO where he worked for the community for over 30 years. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and the Veterans Association. A unique and kind soul, Charles was hilarious, he enjoyed playing tennis and sharing his love of guitar and piano. He was a fantastic card player who treasured spending time with family and friends. He will be greatly missed.

Charles is survived by his daughter, Karen Craig and husband Dan, of Texas; son, Scott Kimbro of Texas; one sister, Linda Horton and her husband Charlie, of St. Charles, MO; two granddaughters, Lindy Giles and her husband Justin and Amanda Garcia and her husband Josh; two great-grandchildren, Layla and Jordan Giles.

A memorial service organized by the family will be held at First Baptist Church in Carthage on Saturday, May 6, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. Memorial donations may be made in Charlie’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association in care of Knell Mortuary, 308 W. Chestnut Street, Carthage, MO 64836.
