Laura Lynn "Pootsie" Lake, age 59, Joplin, passed away on Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at her home after a sudden illness.
Laura was born January 29, 1958 in Joplin, daughter of the late Howard Dean Lake and Collene Ray Martin Lake. The family moved to Texas where she graduated from Richard King High School in Corpus Christi, Texas in 1976. She returned to Joplin with her family shortly after graduation, and worked in the Joplin area for several years with different companies. Laura was a very talented artist and we have all been blessed by her gifts of creativity.
She is survived by sisters, Nancy Yust and husband Kurt of Neosho, Missouri and Debra Terry of Joplin; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
Memorial services will be Saturday, May 6, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. in Mound Valley Baptist Church, 10020 S. 500 Road, Miami, Oklahoma.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
