Vivian Mae Groom, age 84, Joplin, passed away on Thursday, May 4, 2017 at The Communities of the Wildwood.
Vivian was born December 9, 1932 in Dodge, Nebraska, daughter of the late Lee O. Huff and Lillian Edith (Stewart) Huff. She worked for Lozier for 23 years before retiring. She then worked for Wal-Mart for several years. She was the founder and first president of the Girls Little League Softball. She was also a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, Vivian was preceded in death by her husband, Paul F. Groom, who died October 27, 1976, and seven brothers, Leonard Huff, Norman Huff, Calvin Huff, Lynn Huff, Lee Huff, John Huff, and David Huff, a sister, Lillian Ilene Jackson.
Survivors include her children, Margo Terry of Joplin, Paula Dedick and husband Roger, Elena Cupp and husband David of Diamond, Missouri, and John Groom of Joplin; brothers, Clifford Huff of Hampton, Iowa; six grandchildren, Melissa, Christina, Krystyn, Felicia, Cheyenne, Christopher; great-grandchildren, Eastan and Kyndall; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held on Monday, May 8, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Forest Park Cemetery with Dr. Phillip McClendon officiating.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
