Jerry Wiseman

Jerry Wiseman, 79, of Joplin, Mo., passed away on Wednesday May 10, 2017, at The Communities of Wildwood, following an illness.

Jerry was born on July 3, 1937, in Joplin, Mo., the son of Ermal Brandon and Delores (Greenlee) Brandon. He began his military career at the age of sixteen and obtained the rank of Master Sargent in the United States Air Force, retiring following twenty-two years of honorable service. He was a veteran of the Korean War and two tours in Vietnam, while he was in the service he was stationed in the Philippians, Okinawa Japan, Guam, Germany, France, Taipei, Taiwan, Holland and Saudi Arabia. Following his retirement from the Air Force he worked for F.A.G. retiring from there after many years. Jerry was very active in V.F.W. post 534 serving as post commander five times. As post commander during the 2011 tornado Jerry was recognized on the cover of the national V.F.W. magazine for his service to his community.

He married Lisabeth Reynolds on July 5, 1977 she proceeded him in death on May 23, 2001. He was also proceeded in death by his parents, a brother Donald Brandon, two brother in laws, Gene Martin and Ray Hood, a sister in law Peachie Brandon.

He is survived by his three children, one son Brandon Wiseman and his fiancé Athena of Neosho, Mo., two daughters, Vanessa Wiseman and her fiancé Greg of Anderson, Mo., and Jodie Wiseman-Livingston and her husband Jeff of Kissimmee, Fl., three brothers Pete Brandon of the state of Washington, Charles Brandon and his wife Janie of Joplin, J. R. Brandon and his wife Bonnie of Joplin., three sisters, Dottie Martin of Galena, Ks., Clara Pennington and her husband Clifford of Joplin, and Maudie Hood of Wyandotte, Ok. Seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
