Page Wagner

Page Wagner Jr., owner and operator of Wagner Jewelry passed away on May 14, 2017. He was 92 years old. Page was born on December 7, 1924, in Carthage and lived most of his life there. He married Frances Ganes in 1946 and began working with his father full time in the family business. He is survived by two sons, Page Wagner III (Linda), Carl Junction; John Wagner (Susan), Carthage; four grandsons, Page Wagner IV (Tina), O'Fallon, Mo; Gregory Wagner, Carl Junction; Christopher Wagner (Shandi), Miami, FL; Clint Wagner (Jason), San Francisco, Ca; one Great Granddaughter, Taryn Wagner, O'Fallon, Mo, and one Great Grandson, Page Wagner V, O'Fallon, Mo.

Page served in the U S Navy during WWII. He served in the Pacific Theater of Operations earning 1 Silver Star, 4 Bronze Stars and other awards for Fleet Battles. After the war, Page returned to Carthage to start the rest of his life. He worked beside his father in the jewelry business until his death in 1982, then with his mother, Helen, until her retirement. Page then continued to work until his own retirement in 1999. As a Carthage resident/businessman he also served as one of the Jasper County Sheriff's auxiliary deputies for many years and was cited with the Main Street Carthage, Inc, Merit Award in 1994. Page loved cars and was especially proud to show his own custom 1994 Mustang.

Graveside services will be held for family and friends at Park Cemetery in Carthage on Thursday May 18, 2017, at 10:00 a.m. Pastor John Veazey, of Second Assembly of God Church, Joplin, Mo., will officiate.
