Edward Hembree

Edward D. Hembree, 67, Diamond, went to be with his Lord and Savior on May 21, 2017 at Mt. Vernon Veterans Home following a lengthy illness. 

 He was born December 28, 1949 in Racine, Missouri, the son of Cecil and Maggie Ann (Shields) Hembree. Edward was a lifelong area resident and served in the U.S. Army. His love and passion for woodworking was displayed in his cabinet making and carpentry work. He was totally devoted to his children and grandchildren and loved spending time with them. 

 Edward is survived by three children, Deania Ellis and husband, Andrew of Neosho, Becky Gray and husband, Chris of Neosho and Edward Hembree, Jr. and wife, Jennifer of Diamond; eight grandchildren, Jon Shields, Corey Pio and wife, Dana, Sarah Shields, Jacob Pio and wife, Farrah, Nate Yoder, Taylor Hembree, Jarron Hembree, and Ben Yoder; two great grandchildren, Ace Pio and Sadie Pio. Edward is preceded in death by his parents, numerous brothers and sisters and he is survived by one brother, Wesley Hembree. 

 Private graveside services will be held. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Clark Funeral Home in Neosho. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Edward may be made to Mt. Vernon Veteran’s Home, c/o Clark Funeral Home, P.O. Box 66, Neosho, MO 64850.

Services are under the direction of Clark Funeral Home, Neosho, MO.
