Martha Spain

Martha Christina Spain, age 84, of Aurora, MO, passed away on Saturday, May 27, 2017 while at Cox South in Springfield, MO.

Martha was born on December 4, 1932 in Blue Eye, MO, daughter of the late Louis and Ella Mae (Powell) Killman. She retired from Tyson Foods in Monett where she made many friends. Martha enjoyed reading, quilting and listening to music. She was a member of the New Dawn Pentecostal Church in Aurora, MO.

On January 15, 1954 in Crane, MO, Martha married Billy J. Spain. To this union, two sons and four daughters were born. Bill preceded Martha in death on August 21, 2008.

Martha is survived by her two sons, Danny Spain and wife Brenda, of Edwards, MO and Billy Spain and wife Tonya, of Aurora, MO; four daughters, Shirley Lasiter and husband Charles, of Edwards, MO, Rosemary Frazier and husband Jim, of Aurora, MO, Pennie Spain of Aurora, MO and Laura Booth and husband Tim, of Mt. Vernon, MO; fifteen grandchildren and thirty great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren; one sister, Ruby Roberts, of Neosho, MO and a special friend, Cheryl Spain, of Monett.

Martha was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one grandchild; seven brothers, David Killman, Joseph Killman, Elijah Killman, Chester Killman, Jim Killman, Hosea Killman and Steven Killmam and five sisters, Ruth Killman, Gladys Mahurin, Oma Killman, Elida Moudy and Olena Mattingly.

Funeral services for Martha will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at New Dawn Pentecostal Church in Aurora, MO. Reverend Mickey Lewis, Reverend Tony Wyatt and Reverend Marty Lewis will be officiating. Visitation will be held from 6 – 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, at Buchanan Funeral Home. Arrangements have been entrusted to the personal care and direction of Buchanan Funeral Home, Monett, MO.
