Orville Duncan, age 97, of Golden City, Missouri, passed away December 31, 2018 at the Good Shepard Nursing Home in Lockwood, Missouri. Orville had been a resident of the home since August of 2016. While there he developed a mutual love with the care staff.
Orville was born December 5, 1921 in Barton County Missouri to Charles W. and Mamie (Marlatt) Duncan. He was one of six children to this union.
He lived his entire life in Barton County, except for his time in the service. He was a WWII Veteran, stationed in the Philippines. After his service, he returned to Barton County and farmed. He especially seemed to love livestock.
On October 11, 1947 Orville married Wanda Lou Probert. There were three children to this union. Wanda preceded him in death on July 31, 2007.
He was also preceded in death by both parents, two brothers Ralph Duncan and Bob Duncan, and two sisters Esther Wilhelm and Alice Robertson. He is survived by one brother Glen Duncan of Lamar, one brother-in-law Ed Weinstein of Golden City, and two sisters-in-law Wanda Probert and Betty Probert of Golden City. Orville is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Orville is survived by two sons, Terry (Joyce) Duncan and Keith (Cynthia) Duncan of Golden City and a daughter Dixie Lou (Gary) Wolf of Sarcoxie. Six granddaughters survive, Stacie (Mike) Pittsenbarger, Lindsay (Laramie) Todd, Ashley (Brandon) Davis, Dr. Haley Wolf, Shelley (Joe) Engle, and Montana (Benj) Borseth. Nine great grandchildren, Logan and Drew Pittsenbarger, Lincoln and Laken Todd, Braxton and Garrison Davis, JJ and Presley Engle, and Emilia Borseth.
