Barbara Land

Barbara Lynn Bormaster Land, age 77, Houston, Texas, passed away Thursday, May 7, 2020 at her home after an illness.

Barbara was born May 8, 1942 in Joplin to the late Robert Jerome Bormaster and Florence Cohen Bormaster and had lived in Houston since 1969.

She graduated from the University of Missouri at Columbia with a Bachelor of Science degree in Education. Barbara worked as a science teacher, an accountant and had also served as an international homestay coordinator. She was a member of the Sigma Delta Tau Sorority, a Little League Drill Team Director, and enjoyed playing the piano and guitar. Barbara will be missed by everyone that knew and loved her.








Survivors include two daughters, Farrah Smith and husband, Cody, Mansfield, Texas, Victoria Rolater and husband, Chris, Pearland, Texas; one son, Robert Land, Houston, Texas; two brothers, Richard Bormaster and wife, Linda, Joplin, Ronald Bormaster and wife, Barbara, Mankato, Minnesota; four grandchildren, Morgan Rolater, Landyn Rolater, Isla Smith, London, Smith, all of Texas; and several other extended family members and friends.

Services are planned for Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at Parker Mortuary Chapel. Interment will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
