Kelsy Conard

Kelsy Kelly Conard, age 37, of Wentworth, MO died at his home on Friday, May 29, 2020 after a courageous battle with cancer. Kelsy was born in Osceola, MO on Wednesday, June 23, 1982. He was the son of Tim Conard and Beckie (Shively) Conard.

He married Chelsea Sunby on Saturday, September 28, 2013. Kelsy graduated from Monett High School in 2001. While in high school, he was a member of the wrestling team and FFA. 

After graduating from high school, he enlisted and served in the Army from 2001-2008. Kelsy served two terms in Iraq as a Staff Sergeant MP and was trained to be a sniper. After serving in the Army, he attended Crowder College where he became a certified diesel mechanic.

Kelsy was an avid gunman. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and racing Midwest Modifieds. He could drive or mechanically fix anything. He loved anything outdoors. He enjoyed four-wheeling and off road adventures. Kelsy loved to be on the water and thoroughly enjoyed teaching his son, Mason, how to fish. He enjoyed spending time with his kids and family. Kelsy loved to cook and valued time spent with family and friends. Kelsy was an entrepreneur. He and Chelsea owned Conard Truck Service, LLC and Pro Foam, LLC.








Surviving are the following: his wife, Chelsea of Wentworth, MO; one son, Mason of the home; one daughter, Maelee of the home; his father, Timothy (Nancy) Conard of Holden, MO; his mother, Beckie Conard and step-father, Ron Schmidt of Pierce City, MO; a sister, Jessica Reynolds of Holden, MO; his paternal grandad, Leroy Conard of Osceola, MO; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Larry and Tamra Sunby of Monett, MO; a sister-in-law, Nicole Sunby of St. Peters, MO; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. He will be missed by both his family and many, many friends.

Kelsy was preceded in death by his paternal grandma, Peggy Conard; maternal grandparents, Papa (Rev. Merlin Shively) and Bessie Shively; maternal step-grandparent, Bonnie Shively; and two brothers-in-law, Cody Sunby and Jared Reynolds.

Kelsy has been cremated at his request. There will be a Celebration of Life service scheduled by the family at a later date. Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Lakin Funeral Home in Pierce City, MO.
