Juanita Slaughter

Juanita Lucille Slaughter, 81, Goodman, entered into rest on May 15, 2020 at Freeman Hospital in Joplin, following an illness. Juanita was born July 27, 1938 in Goodman, the daughter of Harold and Elewise (Braxdail) Gruden. 

She was a lifelong area resident and had worked at Big Smith, Dairy Den, the Big Nickel and was a homemaker. She enjoyed crocheting, gardening, sewing and being outdoors. She was of the Baptist faith. 

Juanita and Dallas ‘Doc’ Slaughter were married on June 16, 1968 and he survives. 








In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Connie Locke of Neosho, Gary Rogers and wife, Candi of Kimberling City, MO, Ronnie ‘Skinny’ Rogers of Goodman and stepson, Jesse Slaughter of Anderson; one brother, James Grunden and wife, Lillian of Joplin; one sister, Janice Ellis and husband, Clifford of Powell; sister in law, Georgie May Slaughter of Goodman; 4 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. 

She is preceded in death by her parents and brother, Fred Grunden. 

Funeral services for Juanita will be Wednesday, May 20, 2020 at 1 pm at the Clark Funeral Home Chapel of Memories. Interment will follow in the Oakwood Cemetery. 

Friends may call at the Clark Funeral Home on Monday from 9 am until 5 pm and the family will receive friends at a time of visitation Tuesday from 5 pm until 6:30 pm.
