Ehlena Palma

Ehlena Angela Lena Alvarado Palma, age 4, Joplin, passed away Sunday, May 10, 2020 at Mercy Hospital after a sudden illness.

Ehlena was born January 13, 2016 in Joplin to America Palma and Fernando Alvarado.

Ehlena was a typical four-year-old. She loved school and playing with other children at the Joplin Early Childhood Center. She enjoyed music, Coldplay's "Fix You" had a calming effect on her and cool weather. She disliked being hot, bothered and touched.

 Her favorite T.V. shows were, 'Word Party', 'PJ Masks' and 'Daniel Tiger'. Ehlena always looked forward to bath time and having her back rubbed. She loved attention and being talked to. She was strong and knew what it took to fight. Her spirit will live on with those that were fortunate enough to know and love her.








In addition to her parents, Ehlena is survived by her grandmother, Gloria Palma, Joplin; grandfather, Pascacio Alvarado, Rodeo Durango, Mexico; six uncles, Harrison Palma, Joplin, Jesus Cante and wife, Michaela Joplin, Diego Naranjo, Joplin, Jose Lozoya, Joplin, Victor Alvarado and wife, Gisela, Colorado, Pascacio Alvarado, Rodeo Durando, Mexico; and six aunts, Nora Naranjo, Joplin, Azia Wheatley, Joplin, Brenda Alvarado and husband, Daniel, Rodeo Durango, Mexico, Onorelia Alvarado and husband, Felix, Rodeo Durango, Mexico, Dulce Alvarado, Rodeo Durango, Mexico, Alejandra Alvarado, Rodeo Durango, Mexico; godparents, Cecilia Renteria and Enrique Renteria, Joplin; and many extended family members.

She was preceded in death by Amparo Campa and Luis Alvarado.

Services are planned for Monday at 1:00 p.m. at Mount Hope Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 2-4:00 p.m. at Parker Mortuary.

Arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
