Naydean Kuhns of Carthage, Mo passed away on Monday, May 25th at age 92.
Naydean was born October 20th, 1927 in Newton County, Mo to the late Tom and Effie Thogmartin. She was the eldest of 11 children. She attended school in Neosho, Mo.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, John Martin Kuhns Sr. They were married at Camp Crowder Chapel, Neosho, Mo on February 15th, 1944.
Also preceding her in death were her sisters, Geraldean Walker, Elvadean Hopkins, Ermadean Hill and Norma Owens and a brother, Billy Thogmartin.
She is survived by one son, John M Kuhns Jr. ( Sharon) of Seneca, Mo. In addition one grandson, Jeff Kuhns (Kim) of Webb City, Mo and one granddaughter, Jill Koeshall (Brent) of Lees Summit , Mo. Seven great grandchildren, Jared Kuhns, Webb City, Mo, Jordan Kuhns (Alisha) , Joplin, Mo, Hannah Kuhns Webb City, Mo, Taelur Tatum (David) , Webb City, Mo, Jessica Pipes, Lees Summit, Mo, Madison Pipes, Independence, Mo and Audrey Pipes, Lees Summit, Mo and 4 great great grandchildren.
In addition she is survived by three sisters, Marydean Williams, Commerce, Ok, Iladean Hicks, Webb City, Mo, Caroldean Branham, Nevada, Mo , two brothers, Melvin Thogmartin, Diamond, Mo and Tommy Thogmartin , California.
Naydean worked at Smith Brothers , Carthage for 40 years as a floor supervisor. She retired in 1991. She was a member of Grace Episcopal Church, Carthage, Mo.
Visitation is scheduled at Ulmer Funeral Home for Friday, May 29th from 6 to 7 pm. Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 30th 10:00 am at Ulmer Funeral Home, Carthage, Mo. Burial is at New Salem Cemetary, Neosho, Mo. Family requests, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Hospice Compassus, 800 E 12th St, Lamar, Mo 64759.
Arrangements are under the direction of Ulmer Funeral Home.
