Lorene E. Hardy, age 93, of Liberal, MO passed away May 10, 2020, at Via Christi Hospital, Pittsburg, KS.
Lorene was born October 1, 1926 in Orlando, OK to William Henry Grant and Josephine Conard (Herbert) Grant. Lorene graduated high school in Orlando, OK. On January 05, 1947, Lorene married Norman Lee Roy Hardy in Perry, OK and together they raised three children.
Lorene was a homemaker and loved the farm just as much as her husband did. She was an excellent seamstress, sewing her own family's clothes, sewing for other people, making alterations, patching L.R.'s overalls and jeans and creating draperies and wedding dresses. She had worked at Heim's Hatchery from 1955 to 1963. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Liberal, MO for many years and had attended the Church of the Nazarene in Lamar, MO for many years, where she taught Sunday School.
Survivors include three children and their spouses, Greg and Karen Hardy of Liberal, MO, Randy and Dixie Hardy of Joplin, MO, and Jeremy and Ray Hinkle of Halfway, MO; ten grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren, and several great-great-grandchildren. Preceding Lorene in death were her parents, seven brothers and four sisters.
The funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, May 14, 2020 at Daniel Funeral Home. She will be laid to rest in Liberal City Cemetery.
