Glen Lowry

Glen Esmod Lowry, age 93, of Joplin passed away on Tuesday, May 19, 2020 at Freeman Hospital in Joplin.

Mr. Lowry, son of the late Lewis and Dorothy (Schaffer) Lowry, was born on August 17, 1926 in Joplin. Glen was a lifelong resident of Joplin having been an evangelist all over the four-state area. He was currently a member of the Lone Elm Church in Joplin. In 1944 he enlisted in the United States Navy and served his county honorably during WWII.

On August 12, 1948 he was united in marriage to Helen England. She preceded him in death on March 6, 2010.








Survivors include two sons, Mike Lowry and Bill Lowry both of Joplin; two daughters, Carolyn Addotta, and her husband, Robert, of Tucson, AZ and Rayma Hawkins, of Mission Viejo, CA; one brother, Jerry Couch, of Carl Junction; six grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and nine great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by two brothers and six sisters.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 27, 2020 at 10:00 am at the Mason-Woodard Mortuary in Joplin with burial to follow at the Osborne Cemetery with full military honors. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation on Tuesday, May 26th from 7:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Memorial contributions may be made to the Lone Elm Church and may be entrusted to the mortuary.
