Sandy Dean

(From Parker Mortuary)

Sandra Elaine (Prier) Dean, of Joplin, passed away on Saturday, May 16, 2020 at her home.

Sandy was born October 29, 1944 in Granby, Missouri, daughter of the late Floyd and Esther Prier. She graduated from Carterville High School, and has lived in the Joplin most of her life. She drove an OATS Bus for many years. Then she became a shuttle bus driver for Freeman Health Systems until she retired.

She attended Central Christian Center, and was always ready to share her faith. As her health declined, she never wavered in her beliefs. Prayers with wings were sent daily for all the people she loved, and for the world. Her backyard was her little patch of "heaven on earth". God certainly blessed her with a green thumb, she was a master gardener. Her feathered friends always had plenty of seeds to eat as they filled her yard with song. She so loved all her fur babies, and never let a stray go hungry.

In addition to her parents, Sandy was preceded in death by her brothers, Norman, Dennis Allen, Gary, Nelson, and Larry Prier, and a sister, Helen Chester.

Survivors include her husband, Aubrey Brock; sister-in-law, Shirley Prier; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Sandy's ashes will be buried in Hornet Cemetery at a private ceremony.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
