Elnora Mae “Jean” Weeks, 86, Carthage, Missouri, passed away Thursday, May 7, 2020 at Freeman West Hospital, Joplin, Missouri. Jean was born October 27, 1933 in Hollister, Missouri, the daughter of the late Clarence Davis and Ardena (Thomas) Davis.
She was a 1952 graduate of Carthage High School. She married Jim Weeks in 1951; he preceded her in death on May 25, 1995.
Jean loved buying and selling antiques and going to auctions and sales, fixing up old houses and painting china dishes. She was a member of the Victory Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Michael Weeks (Julie), Sarcoxie, Missouri, and Paul Weeks, Chickasha, Oklahoma; three grandchildren, Natalie Fischer (Joe), Colten Weeks, and Payten Weeks; four great-grandchildren, Tristen Weeks, Callahan Fischer, Savanna Fischer Martin (Josh), and Ellie Fischer; one great-great-grandchild, Rilynn Martin; one brother, Wayne Davis; dear friends, Phil Glades and Anita Oakes; and her life-long friends, Betty Bass and Phyllis Hamilton; and her best beloved friend, Thor.
She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Shirley Davis, and Norma Jean Davis.
Graveside funeral services will be held 10 am, Tuesday, May 12, 2020 at Park Cemetery, Carthage. Memorial gifts are suggested to Victory Baptist Church in care of Knell Mortuary. Online condolences may be expressed through www.knellmortuary.com.
