Deana Graham

Deana Lee (Gipson) Graham, age 84 of Springdale, AR, passed away at 9:45 AM on Wednesday, May 13, 2020 at North Hills Life Care and Rehab in Fayetteville.

Deana was born on February 9, 1936 in Baxter Springs, KS to the union of Sanford E. and Dorthy E. (Hendry) Gipson. 

She was united in marriage with Norman Graham in 1953. He preceded her in death in 1991. She had lived in Riverton, KS and the nearby “Five-Mile” area in rural Baxter Springs, and attended Southside Christian Church in Baxter Springs. Deana worked 10 years as an Executive Secretary for Crockett Oil Company, retiring in 1988. In 1993, she moved to Arkansas where she has been for nearly three decades.

She was an avid gardener and canned her own vegetables once a year. She played the piano, sewed clothing, and loved bowling. She is described as fun-loving with a great sense of humor. She loved her family, especially her grandkids and great-grandkids.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman Graham; her parents, Sanford and Dorthy Gipson; two sisters, Rita Allen and Dixie Miller; and one brother, Jim Gipson.










Survivors include two sons, David Graham of Lowell, AR, and Michael Graham (significant other, Maranda) of Joplin, MO; two daughters, Kathi Feezell (husband, Dr. Randy Feezell) of Springdale, AR, and Terri Hanssen (husband, Tim) of Blue Springs, MO; one brother, Bill Gipson (wife, Ila) of Riverton, KS; one sister, Sandra Coach (husband, Robert) of Riverton, KS; eight grandchildren, Heather, Curtis, Cody, Kassie, Carlie, Kaleigh, Kendra, and Haley; and nine great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, May 19, 2020 at Derfelt Funeral Home of Galena. Burial will follow at Lowell Cemetery, rural Baxter Springs. Attendance will be limited based on the current State of Kansas’ COVID-19 limitations on mass gatherings.

Friends may visit the funeral home between the hours of 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM on Monday, May 18, 2020 to sign the guest book and pay their respects.
