(From Mason-Woodard Mortuary)Danny Lee Elias, age 73, of Carl Junction, MO, passed away on April 4, 2024, at Mercy Hospital in Joplin.
Danny was born December 1, 1950, in Springfield, MO to Leo Elias and Juanita Blowers.
He served in the United States Navy from 1968 to 1970 as an E-4 Petty Officer. He fought in Vietnam where he received the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, and the Purple Heart.
On April 22, 1974, he married the love of his life, Debra (Debbie) Walters, in Miami, Oklahoma, and together they had three children from that blessed union.
Danny was a beloved husband, father, brother, son, and uncle who was known for his fun-loving nature who was always full of mischief.
Danny is survived by his wife Debbie, one daughter - Shelly (Gary) Graves of Grapevine, TX, two sons – Jayson (Shannon) Elias of Joplin, MO and Justin Elias of Webb City, MO. He was a cherished grandfather to 6 grandsons- Devin Jones of Fort Drum, NY, Trevor Elias of Joplin, MO, Tanner Elias of Joplin, MO, Tucker Elias of Webb City, MO, Spencer Elias of Webb City, MO and Corbin Hankins of Grapevine, TX, and one granddaughter- Madison Elias of Joplin, MO, as well as two nieces, Kelli (Tom) Norris of Alba, MO, and Tiffani Fox of Joplin, MO, and 3 great nieces and 1 great nephew.
He is preceded in death by his parents and sister Shirley Fox.
A closed service for immediate family will be held May 4th, 2024, at Union Cemetery of Girard, KS.
