Doug Wade

Douglas “Doug” Charles Wade, age 57 of Joplin, Missouri, passed from this life Wednesday, April 3, 2024, after an illness. Doug was a loving husband, son, father, grandfather, brother, and friend to many. He, along with his wife Kay, was the owner and operator of Doug’s Pools in Joplin. 

He was born to the union of Imogene Wade and the late C.A. Wade on August 6, 1966. He was very active in the off-roading community, and his favorite thing to do was ride his RZR with family and friends.








Doug married Marilyn Kay “Downs” Walker in August 20, 1994 in Joplin. She survives of the home, along with their great-granddaughter, Maddie. 

Other survivors include his mother, Imogene Wade Derfelt and stepfather John Derfelt, of Webb City, MO; daughters, Hope K. Carson and husband Charlie of Joplin; and Mary Jo Walker of Joplin; one son, Joe Walker, also of Joplin.








He is also survived by two brothers, James A. Wade and Andy Wade, both of Webb City, MO. Grandchildren include Kallie Carson and Charlie Carson Jr, of Joplin, David Walker and wife Alexia, Jacob Myers and companion, Steven Williams, Joe Myers, and Dagan Ates. Great-grandchildren include Josie Myers and Maddie Myers. He is survived by other family members and a multitude of friends.

Memorial services will be at Derfelt Funeral Home, Galena, Kansas at 6:00 pm, Friday, April 12, 2024, with Rev. Darren Chitwood officiating. The family will receive friends following the service until 8:00 pm. A Go Fun Me account has been established to help with care of his dependent great granddaughter, and to help defray medical expense.
